Reiwa Accounting LLP was established on November 1, 2019. We were formed by the Orange County, San Diego, and Hawaii Offices of U.S. certified public accountancy firm Nagano Morita, together with the audit and tax departments, splitting off and becoming independent. For more than 35 years, Nagano Morita has been providing Japan-U.S. accounting, auditing, and international tax services to Japanese companies setting up and expanding operating in the United States.

The Orange County office was home to the audit department, which had overall control of all audit-related work at Nagano Morita. Our Orange County office now offers such services as financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, financial statement preparation work, and 401(k) plan audits, all conducted in accordance with U.S. accounting standards. The tax department has also moved to our Orange County office, enabling Reiwa Accounting LLP to provide highly specialized services across all areas of international tax including transfer pricing. Our San Diego and Hawaii offices are engaged in core accounting and tax services, including corporate tax, personal income tax, and property tax filings, and the preparation of monthly settlements.

Audit department functions

The audit department in our Orange County office was previously responsible for all auditing work at Nagano Morita. Specifically, the department was responsible for quality control across all company auditing work and the company structure did not allow the sign-off of any audit certification without the approval of the audit department. The Reiwa Accounting LLP audit department, quality control auditors examine working papers and audit reports and carry out training and guidance for department staff to ensure that our audit certification work is of the highest possible quality audit certification.
Once every three years, we undergo a peer review as required by the California Board of Accountancy. The audit department at our Orange County Office takes the lead in responding to this rigorous audit, conducted by an independent third-party. Our reports have thus far been excellent.
